The Port Douglas based artist behind 'The Scenic Route', creates intricately hand illustrated surface pattern designs inspired by the unique flora and fauna of Australia, with a nostalgic nod to her favourite childhood fairytales. Her passion for slow travel inspired the name The Scenic Route, and she loves discovering the beauty of the road less travelled.
Victoria’s signature aesthetic features dreamy hand illustrated botanicals, animals, insects and birds in flowing repeat patterns with lot’s of hidden details. Her designs have featured on a number of products including sleepwear, baby and childrenswear, stationery, wallpaper, candles and bedding.
The Reef print is inspired by Victoria’s trips snorkelling on the Great Barrier reef, capturing the amazing diversity and beauty of this natural wonder on our very doorstep.

I'm Kristen, however mostly known as Chiggy. I have been living in Darwin since 1997 so I can safely say this place is home.
I paint using acrylics and love using bright and bold colour. I also create illustrations starting with pen and paper and then complete them digitally.
My inspiration is the natural environment including the Northern Australian landscapes, my backyard, favourite camping spots and all the flora and fauna that surrounds us.
I enjoy creating these quirky illustrations where most have a splash of humour.
